BACKGROUND
Alexandra Wuzyk is nomadic visual artist, born and raised in South Africa. She is inspired by unconventional human interactions and immersions in nature.
This collection of paintings emerged during her artistic residency for the event ‘Being Nature’ in Chiang Dao, Thailand. They are created in dialogue with the dance form Contact Improvisation. This form of improvisation allows dancers to encounter the natural laws of our environment through direct experience in the body. While attentively watching dances unfold, the paintings also revealed themselves.
